Ireland: 6 Day Itinerary

Whether you're jjoining one of our trips or planning an Irish adventure of your own, here's an example 6 day itinerary for Ireland to make the most of your time in country. This particular journey is laid out road trip style. It's best suited if you're planning to rent a car in Dublin. The first two days are travel heavy, whereas days three through six give more time to linger in a particular region. 

So here we go!

DAY ONE

DUBLIN TO GALWAY AND CONNEMARA NATIONAL PARK
After touching down in Dublin, head west to toward Connemara National Park & the harbor city, Galway. Get ready for gorgeous mountain views, Kylemore Abbey, and traditional Irish charm. 

Dublin to Galway: 2hr 23min
Connemara Options:
- Entire Connemara Loop from Galway (includes drives by: Kylemore Abbey, Clifden): 3hr
- Partial Connemara Loop from Galway (either Clifden or Kylemore) 2hr 30min

DAY TWO

GALWAY TO DINGLE VIA THE CLIFFS OF MOHER
Also known as Leap Year Day. If you've ever seen the movie, Leap Year, you'll recognize the scenic view of the Cliffs of Moher from the end scene. After visiting the cliffs, head south to the quaint but incredible Dingle Peninsula

DAY THREE

DINGLE TO KILLARNEY VIA RING OF KERRY
From the Dingle Peninsula, head south to hop on the Ring of Kerry, wind through Killarney National Park, hopefully spot some of those famous Kerry cows, and eventually make your way back east to Killarney town

Dingle to the Ring of Kerry: 53min
Optional Ring of Kerry Routes:
- Entire Ring of Kerry from Killorglin to Killarney: 3hr
- Partial Ring of Kerry from Killorglin to Sneem to Killarney: 2hr
- Partial Ring of Kerry from Killorglin to Moll's Gap via Gap of Dunloe to Killarney: 1hr 30min

DAY FOUR

KILLARNEY TO CORK VIA BLARNEY CASTLE
Head southeast on a Tuesday to kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle (if you want the gift of gab) and then head further south to the gorgeous harbor and Ireland's second largest city, Cork!

DAY FIVE

CORK TO WICKLOW MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK VIA ROCK OF CASHEL
Making your way back north toward Dublin, see the Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary and magnificent Wicklow Mountains National Park.

Cork to Cashel: 1h
Cashel to Wicklow: 1hr 50min

DAY SIX

WICKLOW TO DUBLIN
Finally, wrap up in Dublin, the "Fair City." From walking tours, historical sites, famous bars (and the Guinness Storehouse), a great music scene, and more, there's plenty to do in Dublin town.

DAY 7: FLY OUT OF DUBLIN ...if you must.
